A New Format

The American Heart Association sets the bar for best practice–focused CPR training The BLS for Prehospital Providers (BLS PHP) program combines online instruction and in-person classroom training into a single course that leverages current educational trends. Real-world team CPR scenarios show the role individuals play in emergency response situations.

This webinar will introduce the BLS PHP course and its components. A combination of online and classroom training improves the learning experience and provides greater flexibility for students and instructors, while still delivering hands-on instruction that enhances performance and improves outcomes. This course is scenario based, and allows for discussion of local protocols and how they affect your approach to resuscitation and implementing high-quality team CPR.

For those who have been on the job for years, BLS PHP is the program to ensure results.

Rod Kimble, Rod Kimble has worked with the American Heart Association for nearly 9 years in several roles, but most recently as a Senior Account Manager, covering NC and SC. Rod holds a bachelor of arts degree, and has been involved in Fire and EMS for nearly 25 years. He is a WV paramedic, with critical care and flight paramedic experience. He has extensive teaching experience in AHA, NAEMT, and other programs. Rod is a past training center coordinator at a level I trauma center and served as National Faculty for BLS prior to joining the AHA. His passion lies in curriculum development to support systems of care and outcomes improvement.

Mark Terry, MPA, NRP, Mark is the Deputy Chief of Operations for Johnson County Med-Act. He's been a Nationally Registered Paramedic since 1987 serving the Kansas City area. Mark has been active in the EMS community in local, regional and national venues. He contributed to the 2002 National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, Foundations of Education: An EMS Approach, the 2010 American Heart Association Pediatric BLS standards and several American Heart Association educational programs (Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), CPR Anytime, PALS Anywhere, CPR Friends and Family, LearnSTEMI, and the Core Instructor Course).
