Involving Experts by Experience: Empowerment & Participation
Join us as we introduce our approach to empowerment and participation, and find out how we will be involving those with lived experience of food poverty. This is also an opportunity to learn more about the financial support available for Food Power alliances (Applications accepted 1 Dec 2017 - 26 Jan 2018).

Clare Pettinger is a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nutritionist (Public Health) and experienced lecturer at University of Plymouth. With a keen interest in food poverty/justice and the 'future of food', she currently leads a small-scale research project 'Food as a Lifestyle Motivator' (FLM), which explores creative methods to engage 'marginalized' communities in food activities to enhance their health and well-being.


Hannah Pitt is a social scientist based at the Sustainable Places Research Institute, Cardiff University specialising in research with community organisations. She and colleagues at Cardiff are delivering evaluation of Food Power. Hannah has previously worked on evaluation of Food For Life and Food Growing Schools London.
