Across a number of industries, companeis are creating and delivering customer experiences (CX) through a combination of traditional employees and other workers that they do not directly control--contractors, employees of outsourcing partners, freelancers, etc. These other workers, who make up what Temkin Group calls a "tethered workforce," play a direct role in creating customer experiences that define a company's brand.
