Success with Interns on Your Farm or Homestead
Wednesday, May 15, 2019

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Eastern Time)
Show in My Timezone
There's a lot of work to do when you grow food, raise livestock or just want to work your land. And, there's often a lack of financial resources for hiring full time workers. What if you could create a way to have help and at the same time use your other resources (knowledge, housing, food, and projects) to help young folks learn a trade, get their feet wet with farming, or learn what you know about life? Internships, mentoring, and apprenticeships are valuable resources for both parties involved but there's more to it then just getting someone to do your work in exchange for housing and food, or a small stipend.

Learn how Annie Warmke, owner of Blue Rock Station has developed a small annual summer intern program over the past 13 years that has turned out more then 80 interns to find their way to a more sustainable lifestyle.
